Challenge
When Fleet Operations Outgrew Manual Tracking
A logistics company managing over 150 vehicles relied on manual spreadsheets and disconnected GPS tracking systems to monitor deliveries. Route inefficiencies, late deliveries, and inconsistent fuel usage reports increased operational costs.
Managers needed to answer questions like “Which routes are consistently delayed?” or “Where do fuel costs spike?” but lacked consolidated data. Field operations often depended on outdated daily summaries instead of live data streams.
Solution
Building a Cloud-Based Data Warehouse and Automated Insights
Wilco implemented a Google Cloud Platform data warehouse to centralize telemetry, delivery, and fuel data in real time. Using Rewst automation, we created workflows to collect, clean, and synchronize GPS and IoT data.
We then developed interactive Power BI dashboards to visualize fleet performance, driver behavior, and route efficiency. Automated alerts flagged delayed shipments and out-of-range fuel metrics, enabling supervisors to take corrective actions instantly.
Impact
Smarter Routes, Faster Deliveries
- Route optimization improved fleet efficiency by 22% and reduced average delivery times.
- Fuel costs dropped by 18% through driver performance analytics.
- Managers gained real-time visibility into every shipment, improving SLA compliance.
- The client reinvested savings into expanding its fleet within 6 months.
